Correlation between imperial measurement users and Brexiters

This week Boris Johnson is expected to suggest to re-introduce the imperial measures in a way to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.

However, this proposal seems more like a move to win back some “Brexit” voters following the recent “Partygate” scandal.

At MoneyTransfers.com we have compared different datasets from YouGov on the EU Referendum and users of the metric system vs. the imperial one.

Here is what we found:

We saw a direct correlation between those most loyal to the Imperial measurement system and Brexiters
Only 18% of people aged 60 – 69 and 12% aged 70+ would describe a short distance using the metric system
In comparison, 64% of the same age group (65+) voted to leave the European Union
