CORBY MP GIVES SEAL OF APPROVAL ON NEW HOMES SCHEME IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE

Northamptonshire housebuilder Barratt Homes recently welcomed Member of Parliament for Corby, Tom Pursglove, to its Lyveden Fields development to meet its award-winning team.

The leading homebuilder invited the constituency MP to visit its development on Livingstone Road to see the nearly completed community alongside Tom Carter (Site Manager) and Jack Davey (Contracts Manager).

During his visit, Tom was introduced to Jack Davey who won a Seal of Excellence in the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job awards for the quality of construction when he was the Site Manager at Lyveden Fields.

Tom Pursglove MP said: “It was great to visit Lyveden Fields to see the houses on offer, as well as to meet and greet a number of residents that have recently moved to the area. It was great to also meet with Jack Davey who recently won the ‘NHBC Pride in the Job’ award for excellence in site management. This is an impressive new development and it was good to learn more about it, and hear more about its journey, as it nears its completion.”

Lyveden Fields has been well-received by homebuyers since it initially launched in 2012, and the 393 home community has now officially sold out.

Jack has now been with Barratt Homes for 11 years and following his success, he has now been appointed as a Contracts Manager, in which he also works at the housebuilder’s developments Glenvale Park in Wellingborough.

Both Jack and Tom Carter joined Barratt Homes as Apprentice Carpenters and, as part of the visit, were able to provide Tom with an insight into their career paths from a grassroots level.

Accolades such as the Seal of Excellence awards rate Site Managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role Site Managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites and to the highest quality standards.

Barratt Developments’ Site Managers won 93 Pride in the Job Quality awards and 31 Seal of Excellence awards in 2021, more than any other housebuilder.

Whilst being able to see the final stages of construction in progress at Lyveden Fields first-hand, Tom was also given a tour of the furnished show homes at the development.

The Corby MP also met with some residents who recently moved to the development to hear about their experience in joining the community, and also spoke with Sales Director Alison Raine.

Alison Raine, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said: “We were delighted to welcome Tom onto the site and discuss our fantastic Lyveden Fields development. It was great to give him an opportunity to see the nearly completed community and introduce him to Jack, one of our award-winning employees.”
