CBD firm backed by rugby star Russell launches new product range ahead of FSA regulation
Pure Sport CBD has unveiled three brand new products – BOOST, CLARITY and UNWIND – as it prepares for further growth in the UK wellness market ahead of the introduction of Food Standards Agency regulation on CBD in the UK.
The new oils – designed to be used in combination throughout the day – have been engineered using a range of specially selected active ingredients to give people the BOOST they need in the morning, a clear and focused mind with CLARITY during the day, and after a long day relax, the chance to UNWIND and get an effective restful sleep.
BOOST oil contains Lion’s Mane, Ginseng and Vitamin C, and helps fight fatigue, stimulate energy levels, enhance brain function and boost the immune system.
CLARITY oil, with ingredients including Ashwagandha, Ginkgo Biloba and Vitamin D combined to help relieve stress, reduce brain fog and boost concentration.
UNWIND is made using Valerian Root, Chamomile, Lavender and Vitamin B, and assists with calming anxious thoughts and improve quality of sleep.
The launch of the new products comes at the perfect time for Pure Sport CBD, already the world’s most lab-tested CBD brand, as it aims to be the first CBD producer to gain approval by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), which will introduce stringent rules on the sale of CBD in the UK from March 31. Pure Sport CBD has applied for validation and expects to receive approval on March 31.
It also follows the announcement of a major £250k seed round investment – valuing the growing company at £2.6 million – which has attracted backers including Scotland rugby star Finn Russell, former All Black Rugby Coach John Hart and a host of major names in UK and New Zealand business.
The boost is the latest success for rapidly growing Pure Sport CBD, building on a bumper 2020 in which saw revenues grow fivefold.
Grayson Hart, 32, who founded the business with former Glasgow Warriors teammate Adam Ashe in 2018, said: “We are so excited to launch these new and exciting products, which mark the next step in Pure Sport CBD’s evolution in the wellness market.
“It comes after a fantastic level of investment at an important time for Pure Sport CBD. The calibre of investor from a range of sectors shows the confidence there is in the brand and the direction of travel.
“We have an ambition to make Pure Sport the biggest and best CBD brand in the world, and this round of investment marks a significant step on the road to achieving it.”
The investment will help create a new facility and wellness space in London, as well as the development of more new products as Pure Sport branches out into the non-CBD health and wellness market.
It also follows the launch of the Pure Sport CBD’s online running club, which has already gained more than 700 members and forms part of the brand’s growing legion of fans around the world.
Russell, 28, also a brand ambassador for Pure Sport CBD, said: “I have invested in Pure Sport CBD because I use it, I trust it, and I believe in the people behind it.
“I benefit from Pure Sport CBD every week to aid in my recovery from the rigours of professional rugby, and so do countless others throughout the game and sport at large.
“The triple lab testing means it is one of the safest CBD products on the market, and can be used with confidence at all levels of sport, and the potential for growth from that platform is huge.”
Pure Sport CBD was launched with a mission to help frequently drug-tested professional athletes be less reliant on painkillers and be able to use an effective, healthier alternative, safe in the knowledge that it’s completely risk-free, as each batch is tested independently in a laboratory to guarantee there is 0% THC.
Other fans of the product include All Blacks World Cup winner Jerome Kaino, Wales scrum-half Rhys Webb and former England stand-off Danny Cipriani, who all use the company’s products to cope with the constant aches and pains of rugby, without turning to painkillers.
And it’s not just professional athletes who are using the products. Market research firm Brightfield Group projects the European CBD market will grow to nearly £1.4 billion by 2023 and a 2019 Gallup poll discovered 14% of Americans were already using CBD products.
With more and more people using the company’s products for a variety of reasons, Pure Sport CBD is now valued at more than £2.6m following record sales and angel investment.
