National Simplicity Day was created in honour of Henry David Thoreau who was an advocate of living simply.

Homebuying is associated with being a complicated process due to factors such as selling an existing property, finding the right new home, and decorating. However, a new build home can take a lot of the hassle away.

Alison Raine, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Northampton, has put together her top reasons why a new build home can make a house move as simple as possible:

Selling your current home

Alison said: “When you’ve found your dream home, selling your current property can be a hassle. We have many schemes available to help you make your move a lot simpler.

“For example, Movemaker and Part Exchange are schemes available to customers which allow us to work closely with nominated estate agents, to ensure homebuyers get the best service and price possible for their current property.”

Finding a new home which is right for you

Alison added: “Whether you’re looking to upsize or downsize, find a home with a garage, or even a home with three storeys, Barratt and David Wilson Homes have a range of properties available that will meet the needs of everyone.

“We build a diverse range of home styles at our developments across Northamptonshire meaning everyone from first time buyers, growing families and retirees will be able to find a property to suit their needs.

“An added bonus of moving into a new home is that you’re not reliant on a seller finding a new home before you can move in.”

No DIY

Alison said: “Moving into an existing property inevitably comes with a lot of DIY to get the home looking how you want. Whether it’s smaller cosmetic changes such as carpets and painting, or larger structural changes such as extensions, making changes to your home can be complicated, time consuming and expensive.

“New build homes make the process much simpler as residents can move into a home that is immaculately finished, which means there is no need to open the toolbox.

“If homeowners want to put a stamp on their new home, they can make the most of our Choices and Expressions ranges. This includes personalisation options from fittings and flooring to appliances and storage solutions, allowing a buyer to truly make their new house a home. All options are installed by professionals and ready for the day of the move.”
