Cllr Ian Ward joined the leading housebuilder at the Stratford House Road development to meet with trade apprentices Junaid Tariq, Daniel Johnson and Thomas Taylor for a tour of the community.

Whilst finding out how the trainees took a step on the career ladder with Barratt Homes, Cllr Ward was also given an insight into the plans for the development which is progressing well in the city centre.

Cllr Ward said: “It was great to visit this exciting development in the heart of the city, meet the apprentices and hear from them about the excellent opportunities and training being offered.

“This combination of much needed homes and apprenticeships is a welcome addition to the city and I was pleased to have the opportunity to see this in person.”

B5 Central is close to completion and has just six properties remaining before it’s sold out. Having sold a range of energy efficient apartments with zero ground rent, the community has proven extremely popular with those who enjoy the hustle and bustle of a thriving city.
The properties at the development have also been built by award-winning Site Manager, Ian Green, who was named Barratt Homes’ Site Manager of the Year in 2021.

Dominic Harman, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Mercia, said: “We were thrilled to welcome Cllr Ward to B5 Central and discuss the excellent progress made here in Birmingham.
“It was also great to give him an opportunity to meet three of our trade apprentices, who are showing fantastic ambition in the early stages of their careers with us.
“As the UK’s largest housebuilder, we pride ourselves on providing a variety of career opportunities and developing the next generation of construction workers.”

Barratt Homes currently has a selection of four bedroom properties available at B5 Central with prices starting from £460,000, and the development now has just six homes remaining before it’s completely sold out.
