BARRATT AND DAVID WILSON HOMES SITE MANAGERS IN NORFOLK RECOGNISED AS BEST IN THE COUNTRY

The winners each received a top industry Pride in the Job Quality award from the National House Building Council (NHBC). These prestigious annual awards are known as the “Oscars of the housebuilding industry”.

Nationally, site managers working for Barratt and David Wilson Homes and its parent company, Barratt Developments, have won 98 Pride in the Job Quality Awards this year, achieving more awards than any other housebuilder for 18 years in a row.

Two of the award-winning site managers are overseeing the delivery of new homes at Woodland Heath in Rackheath, which is underway for both Barratt and David Wilson Homes.

From Attleborough, Andy Martin (43) has worked for Barratt and David Wilson Homes for 24 years, and has now secured his fifth Pride in the Job award following a Seal of Excellence award win last year.

Andy said: “It’s a great feeling to have won this award. I’m very proud of both my team and the development.

“At Barratt Homes, we aim to drive quality, and this award is testament to my excellent team and their accomplishments with this.”

Ken Reeves (51), from South Norfolk, also manages the delivery of new homes at Woodland Heath. Ken has worked for the developer for less than a year, securing his first Pride in the Job award as a Site Manager.

Ken said: “It feels like a huge achievement to win my first Pride in the Job award as a Site Manager.

“I couldn’t have done it without the support from my bosses, Andy Martin and Dave Martin, as well as my hardworking team and my assistant Dan Davis.”

Another two of the site managers secured the awards for their work on Cringleford Heights in Cringleford, which is also being delivered by Barratt and David Wilson Homes.

Jason Paola (43), who lives in Bury St Edmunds, has been with the developer since 2019 and started his work at Cringleford Heights in January 2021, where he has since secured a Pride in the Job award for two consecutive years.

Jason said: “It’s an excellent feeling to have secured an award for my work on Cringleford Heights. Last year I secured the award for the Barratt Homes side of the development, and this year it’s for David Wilson Homes.

“The site team is a great bunch of people, and we all see our work as a big team effort which enables us to achieve fantastic results.”

From North Horsham, Joseph Rolph (47) – who has worked with the developer for 10 years and has been overseeing Cringleford Heights for a year – has won his third successive Pride in the Job award.

Joseph said: “This award win is a great achievement for me and my team. Everyone on site is engaged, skilled, and good at their trade and we are very pleased our hard work has paid off.”

For his work on David Wilson Homes’ Kingfisher Meadow in Horsford, Halit Kol (44) has achieved his first Pride in the Job award in his first year of being a Site Manager. Halit joined the developer five years ago, where he started out as a labourer on the same development.

He said: “Personally, this award is my biggest working achievement yet. It’s like a dream come true.

“I’m very proud to be working for a great company which really cares for its employees and customers, as much as it does with quality and health and safety. It’s a great feeling to receive this acknowledgement.”

The Pride in the Job Awards showcase the best site managers in the country who can demonstrate exceptional standards in building new communities, delivering the highest quality homes for their customers. Each site manager is judged on a range of key criteria including health and safety, their technical knowledge, customer service and attention to detail.

Every site manager who is registered with the NHBC is automatically entered into the awards, with just 450 winners being selected from over 11,000 entrants.

The awards also help to build quality standards across developments and teams, with winning site managers invariably having an assistant site manager working with them. They in turn learn the high standards that are needed to win, increasing quality throughout the industry.

Simon Wood, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, said: “We want to make our customers happy by building high quality homes for them. These awards recognise only the best new homes and well-run developments and we are very proud of our record having won more of these awards than any other housebuilder for 18 years in a row.

“Every customer who buys a home built by a site manager who has won a Pride in the Job Quality award can have confidence that their home is of the highest possible quality.”

These awards closely follow Barratt Developments being awarded five stars by its customers for satisfaction in the annual Home Builders Federation (HBF) new homes survey. To be rated five star means that more than 90% of its customers would recommend one of its homes to a friend, with the developer being the only major national housebuilder to be rated five star for 13 years in a row.
