Specialists from business advisory firm Quantuma have secured the future of the business operated by Care Focus Limited, a provider of residential therapeutic childcare and education. The business was sold to Aston 23 Limited (whose name has now changed to Niche Care Homes Limited), not only preserving jobs, but also ensuring the vulnerable young residents continue to be educated in a safe home environment.
Quantuma managing directors, Maxine Reid-Roberts and Paul Zalkin, were appointed as Joint Administrators of Care Focus on 29 January 2025 and immediately completed a sale of the business and its assets, subject to Ofsted approval. All 38 employees from Care Focus transferred to the purchaser providing clarity and job security for staff.
Founded in 2003, the family run company provided therapeutic childcare from its four Children’s Home premises in Suffolk and Essex, caring for young people aged 11 to 17 and educating up to GCSE level with its team of qualified teachers. The business reported turnover of £2.4m in 2024.
The Company was forced to restructure following several operational challenges.
Maxine Reid-Roberts, joint administrator and managing director at Quantuma, commented:
“We are delighted to have secured the long-term viability of Care Focus, ensuring that all employees’ jobs have been saved and that its young residents will continue to be able to live in their homes without disruption to their education or lives. We wish the team every success in their next chapter.”
