s the years go by, new fashion trends, styles and senses immerge and then disappear from people’s wardrobes. With recent reports suggesting that reselling and thrifting has grown 21 times faster than the actual retail apparel market, it’s no secret that consumers are steering towards more sustainable purchases.

Interested in this, SaveOnEnergy.com/uk wanted to find out which brand is the most resold online. The team reviewed 68 of the most popular fashion brands and investigated their current listings on five of the most popular reselling platforms: Depop, eBay, ASOS Marketplace, Etsy, and Vestiaire Collective. Each brand’s total listings were added together which then allowed them to crown the fashion brand that is the most resold.

SaveOnEnergy.com/uk can reveal that the world’s most resold brand is Nike! This may come as no surprise as the company remains the biggest sportswear brand in the world and leads the way with a huge total of 1,160,163 resale listings online.

Coming just behind in second is Zara with 1,033,809 resale listings. Zara is one of the world’s most successful fashion retail brands with women’s dresses and shoes proving to be the most popular across the reselling platforms.

Coming third is Topshop with 997,179 resale listings. In the mid-2000s, Topshop was at the peak of its popularity, collaborating with megastars of fashion and music, from Kate Moss to Beyonce but in late 2020 it went into administration and was purchased by ASOS on 1st February 2021.

ASOS comes fourth with a grand total of 640,211 resale listings. Despite being the 34th most popular fashion and clothing brand in the UK, the company has seen their profits triple this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Completing the top five with 611,919 resale listings is Adidas. Items such as tracksuits and the classic Originals Superstar trainers prove to be some of the most popular on reselling sites.
