Co-Founder Tim would be able to give his top financial resolutions to make in the New Year, helping consumers tackle the cost of living crisis, which help educate consumers on how to use credit correctly and make the most out of their money.

Tim’s top financial tips include:
Make sure you have some bills in your name, like energy or phone bill, so that you can start to establish a credit rating with regular on-time payments
Move your daily spending to a credit card so you can start to build your credit rating over time
Research credit cards that offer rewards that are interesting to you so you can earn back additional value while spending that you won’t get when using debit cards
Sign up for a credit score tracker like Credit Karma or Clearscore. You can check your score for free without impacting it and follow their advice to improve it over time
Sit down at the end of the month to read through your credit card or debit card transactions to make sure they all look right, if anything looks off, just get in touch with your provider
Make sure to speak to your provider if you default on your payments. Talking to your credit card company will be the best way to pay off what you owe in manageable instalments. And will minimise the mental and financial stress you may have feel if you had instead ignored the problem
