Wannabe Crowned Most Popular Spice Girls Song Of All Time
Thursday 8th July 2021 marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Spice Girls’ iconic hit single Wannabe. (Yep, we feel old too!)
Cosmetic surgery experts Vera Clinic wanted to ascertain the top Spice Girls songs of all time, so using Spotify streams, YouTube plays and UK Official Charts information, they ranked the top songs from most popular to least.
The two most popular Spice Girls songs of all time have both been from their first ever album ‘Spice’ and the rest of the top ten are all made up of songs from albums ‘Spice’ and ‘Spice world’ apart from ‘Goodbye’ edging in at number 10 from the album ‘Forever’.
Wannabe gained 601,831,627 streams on Spotify and 524,000,000 streams on YouTube, as well as holding a number one spot in the charts for 7 weeks.
Joint second place songs Say You’ll Be There and Stop found their popularity on different mediums, with Say You’ll Be There getting almost double the amount of streams on YouTube, whilst Stop gained a massive 997,010,94 streams on Spotify compared to Say You’ll Be There’s 770,225,35.
Out of the 20 top songs released, the Spice Girl’s managed to snag 10 number one’s. Talk about Girl Power!
