NORFOLK HOMEBUILDER DONATES MUCH-NEEDED LAPTOP FUNDS TO COMMUNITY HUB

Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia has donated the funds needed for a new laptop to be used at a local Community Hub in Carbrooke.

After years without a community committee and centre – even having to use an empty container for events – the residents of Carbrooke are delighted to now have the Community Hub, which first opened for bookings in March 2022.

Owned by the Carbrooke Parish Council, the new Hub provides a much-needed resource for the community, offering a hall for hire, events such as screen-printing workshops, dried flower wreath workshops, macramé workshops, and holiday activities for children.

Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia has generously donated £250 to the cause, which has allowed the Hub to buy a new laptop.

Phil Sampher, Chair of The Community Hub Volunteer Management Committee, said: “Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ £250 donation has enabled us to buy an excellent new laptop, that will be a great help to running the I.T part of the Hub such as bookings and emails.

“The laptop will be a big help in so many ways. It will be used for administration, making event posters, running our booking system, and we will be able to connect our projector for meetings and events. It will also give us the ability to search and keep in contact with other services in the wider community.

“We would like to say thank you to Barratt and David Wilson Homes for its kind donation to the Hub. It will allow us to assist others and connect our community.”

Simon Wood, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia, said: “We are delighted to be able to make this donation to Carbrooke Community Hub.

“As a responsible housebuilder, we believe it is so important for communities to have a space like this and we wish the Carbrooke Community Hub team all the best going forward.”

Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia is building a range of new properties at its Norfolk developments Cringleford Heights, Kingfisher Meadow, Wayland Fields and Woodland Heath.
