Gamers earn $3.6 million from esports tournaments in last 30 days

Data gathered by SafeBettingSites indicates that gamers earned over $3.6 million in esports tournament prize money. The payout was for tournaments held within 30 days between July 17 and August 17 this year.

Pandemic spurs esports growth

The amount was paid to 2,591 gamers who participated in a total of 183 esports tournaments. The data indicates that the highest daily payout was $923,702 on July 19.

On July 26 also recorded another notable high payout at $660,099. On the other hand, the lowest payment was made on August 14 at $300.

The high payouts in esports tournaments can be attributed to the growth in the sector that has been fuelled with the coronavirus pandemic. According to the research report:
