DEVELOPER’S DONATION TO HAMPSHIRE SCHOOL FETE COMES IN ‘CANDY’

Hampshire developer David Wilson Homes has recently provided a sweet treat for pupils at The Cambridge School and their families, with a donation of 1,000 lollipops to the Aldershot school’s May fete.

The afternoon featured live music, face painting, freshly cooked food and a bouncy castle, and the contribution of lollipops from the leading developer went towards the prizes for the games stalls.

Having reached out to the Trust organising the fete, The Friends of the Cambridge School, David Wilson Homes made the donation which went towards a number of stalls, such as for those guessing how many sweets were inside a jar.

Rachelle Bailey, Vice Chair at The Friends of the Cambridge School, said: “It’s amazing, we never expected so many people! The support from the sponsors and local community has been over whelming. Seeing the kids’ excitement and faces has been the best part for us. Thank you for being a part of our first event and all the lollipops!”

The Cambridge School is located close to David Wilson Homes’ Bruneval Gardens development on Pennefather’s Road.

The five-star housebuilder has now worked with the school on a number of occasions, including donations of hi-vis vests for Walk to School Month and small Christmas trees for the gardening club.

The recent fete turned out to be a huge success with just shy of 3,000 people in attendance throughout the day.

Campbell Gregg, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “It was our pleasure to contribute to the fete at The Cambridge School following the Trust’s request for 1,000 lollipops for the children in attendance.

“The past two years have been a difficult time for schools across the country and it was fantastic to hear about the success of the fete and the enjoyment had by members of the Aldershot community.”
